- General Requirements
By submitting your goods to Cash4Gold-UK, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) regardless of whether the Customer Declaration has been signed. These will be found within your FREE Cash4Gold-UK pack.
You must meet the following requirements to use our service:
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Be a resident in the United Kingdom
- Be the legally entitled owner of all items submitted to us
- Act on your own behalf and not for commercial or business purposes
- Guarantee that no items have been obtained via any illegal activity
- Guarantee that no transaction violates any UK laws relating to money laundering, terrorism financing, or other regulatory requirements
- Not submit any hazardous materials
- Submit only items containing precious metals
Cash4Gold-UK reserves the right to request proof or documentation to verify compliance with these T&Cs. We may reject any application or refuse delivery of packages that appear opened, damaged, tampered with, or contain incomplete or unsigned information.
- Submitting Your Items
All items must be sent to us via Royal Mail Special Delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing. You are required to:
- Complete the quantity and details on the form provided in your pack
- Sign the Customer Declaration
- Send items via the prepaid, tamper-proof envelope
Insurance and Risk
All items are submitted at the owner’s risk until received and signed for by Cash4Gold-UK. Your package is insured by Royal Mail for up to £750 whilst in transit. If you believe your items exceed this value, you may purchase additional insurance at the Post Office at your own cost.
Important: If we do not purchase your items, we cannot refund the additional insurance fee you paid. If we do purchase your items, the additional insurance fee will be refunded upon sight of the original Post Office receipt.
- Valuation Process
Once your items are received by us, they will be:
- Carefully unpacked and itemised against your valuation form
- Checked and tested by our trained valuation experts
- Assessed for purity, weight, and precious metal content
- Valued based on the current day’s spot prices using live market rates
Testing and Damage Disclaimer
The valuation process may involve applying certain acids to test the gold, silver, platinum, or other items, which can leave permanent staining and/or deep scratches. By submitting your items, you accept these terms. Cash4Gold-UK will not be liable for any damage caused during this testing process or any resulting decrease in the value of items.
Gemstones
Cash4Gold-UK accepts gemstones within settings; however, they typically have no significant value. Smaller gemstones and diamonds under 0.25 carats are of no value but can be removed and returned upon request. Individual diamonds over 0.25 carats may have additional value depending on colour, cut, and clarity, which will be factored into our offer.
Making an Offer
We will contact you by phone to make an offer based on the valuation. Should we be unsuccessful in reaching you after 28 days, we will submit payment of our offer to the address supplied, and items held against that payment will be cleared for submission to refiners.
Offer Validity: Any offer made is valid only until 17:00 hours on the same day due to ever-changing precious metal prices.
Acceptance is Binding: Once you have accepted our offer, the goods may be sent to refiners, and your acceptance is legally binding and irrevocable.
Items of No Value: Any items determined to have no value will not be returned unless specifically requested.
- Payment Methods and Arrangements
Once you have accepted our offer, payment will be arranged by your chosen method:
Bank Transfer (BACS)
- Free of charge
- Direct transfer to your bank account
- Funds usually arrive same day under the Faster Payments System
- Payment made within 24 hours of acceptance
Cash by Post
- Sent securely via Royal Mail Special Delivery
- Charge of £9.00 for postage and handling
- Cash sent in British Bank notes and £1 or £2 coins, rounded down to the nearest pound
- Usually delivered the next working day
- Will ONLY be sent to the address where your original pack was posted
- Requires signature upon delivery
- We may request proof that the named person appears on the Electoral Register for that address
- Once received and signed for, there is no recourse or liability to Cash4Gold-UK
PayPal
- Direct transfer to your PayPal account
- Payment made within 24 hours of acceptance
- Rejected Offers
Almost all customers accept the offer we make; however, if you reject our offer:
- Your goods will be returned to you at no cost
- Return will be made within 5 working days of offer rejection
- Items will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery (free of charge)
- Please allow 3 working days for rejected parcels to be processed and dispatched
Should you decide to resubmit the same items, we cannot guarantee the same offer due to fluctuating precious metal prices.
- Items with No Precious Metal Content
For packages received containing no precious metals:
- £15 handling fee for return, OR
- Free disposal (no return)
For parcels of jewellery amounting to less than 10 grams of gold or without significant value: £15 admin fee for return.
For silver sent without at least 10 grams of gold: £15 admin fee for return.
- Minimum Quantities
Cash4Gold-UK requires a minimum of 10 grams of precious metals (gold, platinum, or palladium). Parcels containing less than this minimum will carry a £15 admin fee for return.
- Items Not Reclaimed
Payment must be received or claimed within 28 days. Items not reclaimed within 28 days of initial contact will automatically be disposed of. Cash4Gold-UK reserves the right to purchase any unclaimed items, with deductions made for current precious metal prices and a £20 charge to cover administration, storage, and insurance.
- Delivery Failures and Lost Property
If Royal Mail is unable to deliver or obtain a signature, an instruction card will be left at the address. Packages must be collected from the local delivery office within the specified period. If unclaimed within that time, the items will be returned to us, and we will attempt to contact you. Re-submission will incur an administrative charge of £10.
Lost Items Sent Without Proper Identification
If your application form has not been properly completed and we cannot identify the owner from the envelope, the items will be deemed as lost property and securely held by us for 6 months. To reclaim items, you must provide a full and detailed description. We will then make a new offer at current prices, subject to deductions for storage, insurance, and administration costs.
If no claim is made within 6 months, items will be refined to recover storage and insurance costs (£5 per week). Any claim made thereafter will result in payment less applicable charges.
- Loss, Damage, and Claims
Our Liability
Cash4Gold-UK will not be liable for any items becoming lost or damaged in transit. However, if items are lost or damaged once received by us, we will replace or cover the cost of replacement once proof of items and their value is submitted.
For items lost or damaged in transit, Cash4Gold-UK will provide all relevant documentation required to make a claim from the carrier (Royal Mail). You agree to provide all information reasonably requested by us or the carrier’s insurance company to process the claim successfully.
Submitting a Claim
A customer wishing to submit a claim to Cash4Gold-UK must:
- Notify us immediately and request a claim form
- Fully and accurately complete, sign, and post the completed form per instructions
- Submit all supporting documentation with the completed form
- Note: Failure to properly complete and submit may result in claim denial
Processing Period: There is a 14-day processing period from receipt of the claim form. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
- Items Sent in Error
Our Special Delivery envelopes are coded with a unique identifier and are intended only for customers sending precious metals for sale. If you use our envelope to send items intended for someone else, the fee for returning those items is £20 to cover postage, insurance, and administration costs.
- Re-sent Cash Payments
For returned cash payments that need to be re-sent, the payment will be made minus the £10 administration and handling costs.
- Call Recording
All phone calls between Cash4Gold-UK and its customers or potential customers may be recorded for security and training purposes. Any such recording may be relied upon by Cash4Gold-UK in the event of any dispute.
- Governing Law and Legal Provisions
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- Failure by Cash4Gold-UK to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these T&Cs does not waive such right or provision
- If any provision is found invalid by a court, the court shall endeavour to give effect to the parties’ intentions as reflected in that provision
- All other provisions remain in full force and effect
- Any claim or cause of action arising from your use of our services must be filed within one (1) year of the claim arising
- Any claim or cause of action must be filed in the UK
- You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cash4Gold-UK against all liability, claims, suits, losses, costs, and legal fees caused by or resulting from any breach of these T&Cs, including claims brought by third parties
- Changes to These Terms and Conditions
Cash4Gold-UK reserves the right to change these T&Cs at any time. We advise you to visit our website regularly to ensure you are aware of the current T&Cs. If you send items more than once, it is your responsibility to check the T&Cs on each occasion. By sending items to us, you agree to be bound by the T&Cs in effect at that time.
- Data Protection and Privacy
Cash4Gold-UK complies with all requirements of the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR. Your information will only be used if you have given us permission to do so. Any bank account or similar financial details you provide will be treated confidentially and stored subject to high security methods only with your prior permission.

Cash4Gold-UK is a UK-registered business. We:
- Only accept gold and precious metals from UK addresses
- Only make payments to UK bank accounts
- Operate in compliance with all applicable UK regulations and anti-money laundering requirements
